The Middle Ages
Medieval stained glass windows are especially prone to damage in the paint layers, (as a result of many years of internal condensation) and the effects of corrosion on the exterior surface. Frequently, the conservator is also faced with previous interventions which may be contributing to the problem and that might need to be corrected according to current knowledge and using new methods. The following examples are all equipped with an isothermal outer glazing.
